Important items of information:
· Time and Talent forms – Changes were suggested in these areas: meeting times for various choirs, age group delineation for Handbell Choirs, responsibilities of the Cantor (liturgy at all 3 services and the Psalm at 10:45), and description of Chancel Care or possibly listing it under another category in the “Faith in Action” pamphlet.
· Service Times– Understanding that Pastor Detweiler is considering a return to the original service times at the Downtown Site, we question how that discussion and decision process will take place.
· The Tammy Borden Band – We definitely welcome the proposal for this band (John Dougherty and Jim Stellmacher are two of the four members) to participate in a Sunday worship, as well as perform an evening concert at the North Site. Our thoughts were that when the services are combined, beginning on Memorial Day weekend, there will be a greater attendance/audience. Two upcoming occasions in our church were also considered as good times to add this special music: church picnic (May 20) or the dedication of the North Site renovations (date TBD).
· Easter Vigil – Decidedly a spiritually moving service! Suggestions for next year are to announce to the congregation an estimation of the length of the service; provide, in writing, an overview of the history and tradition of the Vigil; and to subdue the frequent, distracting change from darkness to light during the service.
· Storage Space – It was suggested that representatives from our ministry team meet with the Property Committee to devise a plan to provide storage for a multitude of worship items at the Downtown Site (i.e. paraments, pastoral robes, funeral pall, holiday decorations, art work). There is a great need for adequate space that is convenient, well lit, humidity controlled, and secure. The Reuter Room in the lower level is just one possible area that was proposed for this storage space. Taking an inventory of materials housed in the various “nooks and crannies” might also be considered (if not already done so).
