Discussion:
“Giving to God,” by Mark Powell, Pages 23-63
·
Page
27: “The root cause of bad stewardship is often a fundamental misunderstanding
or false claim regarding ownership.”
·
Page
29: “it is God who names us stewards – we did not apply for the job – God chose
us, and, we must assume that God knew what God was doing.” Page 31, “God
created everything-including us.”
·
Page
41: “the apostle Paul said, ‘I know what it is to have little, and I know what
it is to have plenty. In any and all circumstances, I have learned the secret …’
What secret? ‘I have learned to be content with whatever I have’ (Philippians
4:11-12).”
·
We
as Christians know these things, but society dictates other values, making
living out our stewardship privilege very challenging.
·
Giving
is a spiritual discipline – not a duty.
