Important items of information:      (DS=Downtown Site, NS=North Site)

Old business:

Ø      NS Sanctuary cupola windows were repaired on April 14-15. Facilitating this project were Boldt, Architectural Roof Lines and Pella Windows. Boldt supplied the crane and crane operator; Scott Bastian, from ARL, caulked and riveted copper flashing; Pella Windows sealed the perimeter of each window glass. We have had several hard rains and high winds; there are no noticeable leaks at this time. Costs to do this repair: Boldt, $4,533.30; ARL, $651.10; Pella Windows, $468.00. Total: $5,652.40

Ø      NS sewer and water installation update: Walt is working on this.

Ø      Jack’s Maintenance ended their cleaning service at the DS as of May 2, 2008. Paul Barth started his full-time position at the DS, as DS maintenance coordinator on May 1, 2008.

Ø      Jack’s Lawn and Landscape completed the spring cleanup at both locations on April 22-23. Jack’s Lawn Service will continue to do the lawn work at the North Site; Paul will take care of the yard work at the DS.

Ø      Garage: Contact has been made with John Dougherty, and an agreement has been made that John will remove all of his belongings from the garage by June 1, 2008. John Notebaart and Steve Golz will work with Paul to make the garage secure for storage of church equipment.

Ø      Maintenance contracts: Following our last meeting, it was proposed that Central Temp maintenance contracts be rewritten by Bill Hoffman, Central Temp manager, to include 2 maintenance checks per year, spring and fall, instead of quarterly checks. Paul will take care of changing belts and filters at the NS and doing any other general maintenance of equipment. The revised DS contract will also be for 2 checks per year.

Ø      NS windows: Pro-Clean Windows washed all the windows at the NS on April 18 and 22.

Ø      Banners: The first three seasonal banners, which were donated by Kathy Wiebel, have been hung on the new banner stands, made by Jeff Picken, in the NS sanctuary. Thank you to Kathy and Jeff for their willingness to share their time and talents.

New business:

Ø      The committee reviewed and discussed the Appleton Refuse Container and Enclosure standards. To meet Appleton regulations the NS will need to have an enclosure for the dumpsters. One bid was received from Mi T Fence with 3 different options. The pad, which will need to be laid before the enclosure is erected, will not happen until repair work on the driveway is done when the sewer and water lines get put in. The enclosure project will be tabled until that time.

Ø      Thank you to Art Fochs, for creating a shelf and rod for bridal parties to hang their dresses on at the NS.

Ø      Several requests for additional handicapped parking at the DS have been received. Harold Gensler is checking into the City of Appleton’s requirements and guidelines for handicapped parking. The committee will act on this as soon as we have guidelines.

Ø      The committee discussed a request from Fred Hoeppner.

Ø      The committee discussed the list of suggestions forwarded from the Communications Team. Addition of motion lights will be evaluated as rooms or areas are renovated. Motion lights are not beneficial in all areas. Automatic flushers are not a priority at this time with so many other major repairs that need to be made. The NS lawn is a big project and would need many volunteers on a continuous basis. If someone has interest in doing this project, please contact the church office. There are recycling bins and containers located at both sites.

** The committee discussed and agreed to not meet during the summer months. Communication concerning property issues should be directed to Jenell. Jenell will write monthly updates throughout the summer. Special meetings will be called if a need arises.

Next meeting: 6 p.m., Monday, Sept. 15, North Site
