Important items of information:
May 20: Church picnic at the
North Site
June 23: Timber Rattlers
Tailgate & Game
July 18: Pastor Dismer’s
installation at the North Site.
- June 2007 meeting will consist of review of the
Executive Summary of the 50+ Inventory. Diane Luxhoj was impressed with
the overall report and encourages Congregational Life members to review
& prioritize. Try to tackle
just a few topics to begin with. Jean shared that this step will also
assist the incoming Parish Nurse.
Jean will also mail Congregational Life members an executive
summary plus a copy of the 2007 planning grids.
- Parish Nurse position: 3 resumes have been
received. Ellen recently also posted on a number of free on-line job
sites. Will continue to accept
resumes while reviewing the initial applicants.
- Prayer Ministry met recently:
- Prayer 101/T.R.I.P. session with the interns
this summer. Andy has been on
vacation but Jean will connect with him about this possibility. If it does not work in summer, will schedule
again in Dec. 2007.
- Prayer Group is beginning to recruit members
for a weekly prayer group. Jack
Herr is key contact for that effort.
- Emilie Larson shared an idea of a Prayer Net
that was in place at her former church.
Using a fish net style of decoration, individuals could add or
remove prayers that were needed.
Great visual.
- Phyllis Anderson was wondering about
highlighting the Local Need Quilters more when FELC refers to Outreach
efforts. Jean suggested the group
submitted an article for the FELC newsletter so others can better understand
how their group differs from the Lutheran World Relief quilters.
SIDE
NOTE: Pastor Dave wanted to encourage
continued “Breaking Bread” potlucks and learning time for members. Initially 6 homes were recruited and 3
sessions were actually held but those who hosted & attended enjoyed them
greatly.
