Guest introduction: Rob Butke attended at the invitation of Dong.

 

Budget: approved for 2009, less than projected.

                        a. Jean requesting a line-by-line breakdown for review for next month.

                        b. Jean will send out an electronic version of the 2009 budget.

 

Review of goals: We need to add a timeline to all the goals.

 

Call to discipleship:

            1.  General discussion around the idea

                        a. Mary Bauer wants to lead a fall 2009 retreat/worship

                        b. Time & Talent becomes a part of this

                        c. Newsletter feature in March or April to roll out

            2.  Ultimate expectation for every FELC member to be involved

            3.  Ideas for volunteers to be raised up and celebrated in The Post-Crescent.

 

2009 picnic: Chairman or chairwoman needed

            1.  Elizabeth Hensel and Margaret Zweig co-chairing the food prep, along with

                 Beth Eick.

            2.  Chairman/chairwoman will coordinate the sub groups and work closely with Mo and  
                  the interns.

            3.  Free tickets

                        a. Sunday School teachers and new members to receive

            4.  Elizabeth sharing recommendations and evaluation from 2006-present picnic.

                        a. Margaret has specifics on costs and amounts of food purchased.

 

Member care:

            1.  Funeral and newlywed ministry still in the works.

            2.  Prayer ministry

                        a. Champion needed to lead this event with objective being Prayer 101.

 

Health ministry:

            1.  9 people training for communion ministry.

            2.  Special event for birth to 5 and parents; faith-based on reading/music   

                        a. March 21, North Site

 

50+ ministry update:

            1.  Ecumenical rescheduled to 2.19.09 — focus on ID theft.

            2.  Soup buffet — 2.12.09.

            3.  Game Board Day—3.12.09.

            4.  April — Traditional Maundy Thursday Brunch

 

Fellowship:

            1.  Lenten meals — All hosts accounted for

            2.  Tables of Eight, 10 households, 3 sessions

            3.  5th Sunday Meals, still looking for a chair — Deni to call

            4.  Rattlers Game — those hosting think that perhaps a different activity is needed.

                 Dong to follow up with hosts.

 

To be planned:

            1.  Going-away events for Pastor Detweiler and Pastor Herder
