Items that may require budget/finance coordination: In reviewing goals, we were reminded that a budget line for new TV/DVD projectors and screens was cut from this year’s budget. The existing ones are now failing and it is imperative that we replace them in 2009. Estimated cost is $1100, but will do further research.

Important items of information:

• Reviewed existing task forces on expectant parent ministry and teacher appreciation and charged a new task force to plan our Christmas programs.
• Discussed teacher recruitment and developed several excellent ideas including: teacher prayer chains, prayers for teachers as part of the prayers of the church, temple talks and “Invite your parents to Sunday School.”
• There was a concern that because 9th grade confirmands are no longer required to teach Sunday School, we may no longer be able to develop high school students into good Sunday School teachers as we have been doing for many years.
• Decided that the Confirmation Task Force will continue as a subcommittee.
• Decided to incorporate language from Church Mutual Insurance regarding disqualification from volunteering due to prior criminal conviction into the Handbook and Volunteer Form.
• Discussed progress on Spiritual Gifts. While two seminars will be held during LIFT, few inventories have been submitted to the church. Kathy will research further and report at our next meeting.
• Discussed goals for 2008, assuming a flat budget.
