Important items of information:

· Tim Rohde completes his term in February and asked we recruit a new chair before that date. Current members are asked to consider this call to serve.

· Discussed a new direction for the Teacher Appreciation Task Force

As FELC works toward the Discipleship Church Model, we want to provide ways for people to develop connections with each other. So instead of little gifts, or treats distributed to individual teachers, we'd recognize & thank them in a group setting, providing a time for teachers to get to know each other better. Periodically, teachers would be invited to a gathering at the end of Learning Time. (Possibly at the North Site teachers could meet during the Learning Time video day with substitute teachers provided for them.) Refreshments would be provided, a devotion, or a brief teacher enrichment idea plus time to reflect & share stories with other teachers.

· Sept. 16 Volunteer Fair - display work –Jill & Anita; Volunteer booth coverage - Tim Rohde & Jill Gretzinger Downtown and Anita at North Site

· Library Book Fair October 7 & 14; Library Association Oct. meeting with storyteller - Invite teachers to attend

· Host a table at Lawrence University Welcome Week Students Fair Sept. 19 From 1-4 p.m. Emily Fink, Peter Peregrine & Anita will help

· Wednesday LIFT schedule being mailed this week. Many great opportunities!

· Teacher Recruitment-difficult this year; still need teachers for grade 5 and 7. discussed strategies

· Discussed classroom maintenance- cleaning, sharpening pencils. Could a confirmand help as a service project?

· Worked on Learning Ministry Team 2008 Goals ( see attached file)
