• FELC communications update
• First English staff e-mails have been changed to the staffer’s first initial, followed by the last name and ending in @felc.com.
• FELC program guide status: Cover has been designed; Jan has not begun paginating the inside pages.
• Commitment to Community stewardship program launched Sept. 9

3 PowerPoints have been developed focusing on stewardship, highlighting “Grow,” “Gather” and “Give,” respectively. The congregation will view them in October.

• The new Faith in Action booklet and Time & Talent forms will be delivered this week and made available at the volunteer fair.
• Updated materials are ready for the new member packets for the first class on Sunday.
• Jan is taking a Web site class at FVTC and for her semester project she will be redesigning our Web site in 2008.
• Wednesday LIFT brochure will be mailed on Thursday, featuring our worship and learning opportunities beginning Sept. 19.
• Display board is in Room 110 at the Downtown Site.
• Welcome/Connection Center Update

The team discussed the FELC Connection Center kiosk concept. Bob researched welcome center kiosks. He presented a sketch of a possible portable kiosk. Team discussed the possibility of also having a unit to house brochures that would correspond to the center. This project should be put on the budget for the North Site in 2008 and Downtown in 2009. Discussion included interactive capabilities of a computer. The vision for the center is to have it become an informational tool – especially for visitors - that links them to the community as well as provide a connection to small groups within the church. Bob will compile a budget. Do we want a printer included with the unit? Perhaps we should tap other members as resources. Rich also conducted research on the Internet regarding kiosk designs. His notes will be forwarded to team members via e-mail.

· New Member Sessions: Gary Akgulian will make a 5-minute presentation at 6:50 to 7:05 p.m. on Sept. 23 at the Downtown Site.

· Midweek worship — Communicate the midweek worship Wednesday LIFT program to friends, members and the community.

· Ministry team planning: The goal is to provide more opportunities for people to get involved. Challenge: how do you become an active member of the congregation? The team reviewed the goals. Lance will summarize our goals and e-mail the document to the entire team, requesting input at the next ministry team meeting. How do we measure the results of our projects? The church database has the capability to track activities of members. Once people sign a visitors’ card, what percentage join and what percentage stay active?
