Important items of information:

Communications Update: Converting the FELC staff e-mail addresses to felc.com is technically feasible and the staff agreed with the team that this would reinforce the FELC brand. E-mail address changes will be phased in gradually to print and electronic materials.

Welcome Center Task Force: The Welcome Center target launch date is 2008 at the North Site. A fair amount of training will be needed. Welcome Center hosts should be knowledgeable about FELC and have some computer background. We will make a recommendation to the Council. Costs include materials to build the center. We’re looking for a PC that would let visitors to the center access the Web site to sign up for activities and programs. The computer also could be used for PowerPoint scrolling displays of photos taken of FELC activities. The center would be the hub of what’s going on at church. Suggestions: ask members who are skilled in woodworking to design the workstation. Jan to bring the Congregational Growth budget figures to August meeting.

Midweek worship: There’s a need to get more people involved. The midweek worship will be a great way to increase worship attendance. Welcome Hosts will be key during the service, along with the Connection Center, which will help members find activities and programs that interest them and help visitors find out more about FELC. The team suggested the following ways to advertise the service: Send press releases to area media to invite the community to the services. Also publicize services on posters at the YMCA and day care centers; forward information to Time Warner “Around Town” Community Electronic Calendar and the cable TV  community calendar; submit information to Christian Radio for PSAs; post on the church Web site.
