FELC communications
update:
Jan presented new welcome brochure that will be packaged with a youth brochure
and used for the annual summer intern door drop. She also circulated the new pastoral
staff business card.
Reported:
Faith in Action brochure and FELC program guide designs are under way; 64
subscribers for the First English NewsUpdate; 135 members responded to the
mailing in late April which solicited requests to receive the FELC monthly
newsletter online rather than through the U.S. Mail.
Yellow Pages
advertising: Team OK’d turning over Yellow Pages ad to Communications
Team.
Staff e-mail: Jeff suggested
that staff e-mail addresses should be switched to felc.com from tds.net to
reinforce the FELC branding. Jan will inquire about the process through our tds
Web host and report to the team at the June meeting.
Marketing
material:
Jeff brought door drop material from Alliance Church that included $10 off
coupon for a summer event or program. Jan will forward example to
youth/outreach staff.
New member
class update — Sunday, May 6th:
11 Families and 22 New Members
Lance and Anita are working on a new member
follow-up survey that includes six questions. To better engage new members, a
spiritual gifts inventory will be included.
FELC
Connection Center: Reviewed top 3 Goals in 2007 and agreed that the focus will
be Welcome Center/resource center that will include information about all
programs and activities; and a computer to access online information. Bob Heil,
Rich Flamang and Gary Akgulian will work on FELC Connection Center Task Force.
General consensus was to establish a pilot. Timeline: First meeting in May,
prior to June 12 Ministry Team meeting. Pastor Detweiler and Pastor Dismer will
be invited to this first meeting. Lance will connect with Ellen Evensen to see
if someone on her team would be interested in joining.
Renew
sessions:
Develop a renew session based on the FELC Connection Center results. We may
take a look at it this fall. We need more welcome hosts Downtown, since one
host can’t greet multiple people coming to worship. Plus, we need to enhance
the welcome host role. Lance will connect with Jack and Rick to see how we’re
doing on volunteers and follow-up after worship services. Possible scenario: A
welcome host who may be too busy to handle lots of visitors might ask them to
check out the Connection Center, where another volunteer would engage them.
Grant writing. Lance
forwarded information on a synod grant to Jan, who will forward to the grant
writing team, once it’s re-established.
2007 meeting
schedule
