Invocation: Pastor Detweiler – “Jesus

Pastor Detweiler’s update
- A
staff retreat will be held Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008.
- A
sexton job description needs to be created.
- The Council
will be asked to read Scripture from the Bible and offer a prayer when
preparing devotions for Council meetings.
- “Traveling
Together” will be the used as a study guide.
Ministry team reports
- No
action items.
- Suggested
establishing guidelines for ministry teams to help determine expense/
budget categories.
Treasurer’s report
- Jeff
distributed: “Budget Summary, 2008 Weekly Offering and Echoes Gift &
Thrift” documents.
Old business
- Judy
was asked to check the minutes from the 2006 annual meeting to check if a
motion was made that states the annual meetings should be hosted at
alternate sites in alternate years.
- Capital
appeal: Informational/training sessions will be held on Feb. 25 at the
North Site and Feb. 26 at the Downtown Site on how to spread the vision of
the capital appeal.
New business
- John
presented a council retreat summary.” Discussion followed.
- “Traveling
Together”: John and Karen will
discuss “Elements of Discipleship” at the Feb. 26 Council meeting.
- Council
members will be asked to read assigned chapters from “Traveling Together” and
be prepared for discussion at Council meetings.
- Support
Ministry Team: John will be
soliciting a new chairman.
