Outreach & Social Ministry subgroup: Echoes

Item that may require Council action:

• Would like to ask Don Monson to skip out of his meeting early next month and discuss the projected budget. This will also lead to planning for the 501 3 C and when an appropriate time would be to ask Laura Henderson (from a legal point of view) when we should start pursuit of this classification. Also are there any impacts to the budget process and the current structure?

Important items of information:

• Discussed Pastor Detweiler’s resignation.
• Discussed the reporting relationship for Kathy. This needs clarification due to the staff relationships. Jeff B. concluded that he will need to have a discussion/phone call with Walt Rugland. We also talked about minimizing Kathy's pick-up liabilities. We agree with Kathy that the pick-ups that she has taken care of so far have generated good revenue for the store, but we also do not want Kathy doing pickup of "heavy stuff" for safety reasons. We are looking into a phone tree of the men's ministry team to see if we can help with that aspect of the business.

1. Establish calling tree. Jeff C. will bring this Jack Swanson's attention.

2. Kathy will email the Jeff’s when she has the first situation. We will get the men together with trucks and/or trailers to do these as we have time. We will miss some opportunities if the clients must have the furniture moved on the day of the call, but we believe they will call back.
