Important items of information:
Worship bulletins: Discussion
continued on the design and format of the Sunday worship bulletins, which were
viewed as user-friendly and well organized. The half-sheet element in the North
Site 10:30 a.m. bulletin has been discontinued, due to complaints about it
falling out of bulletins. The FELC logo placement on the back page was viewed
as logical, along with staff contact information. A large-print version for
Wednesday night worship is needed.
Endowment brochure update: Le Anne shared possible design options for the
brochure and requested additional art. Jan will shoot photos in the next month:
generational, organ, North Site exterior/interior; close-up face shots. Jan
also will request a quote from a member who has contributed to the endowment
fund.
Echoes ambassador cards: At the request of Kathy Hoffman to design an Echoes
business card with its logo, the team reviewed the redesign and thanked LeAnne
for her expertise. Jan will
double-check with the Outreach & Social Ministry Team to make sure using
upper and lower case letters for its name (Echoes) is OK.
Grant writing: Jan distributed the outline of the presentation she shared with the
ministry teams in May regarding the preliminary work necessary in requesting
grant funding and invited Communication Team members to let her know if they
would like to join the Grant Writing Team.
Open floor: Elizabeth
suggested that the Property Oversight Committee consider incorporating the
location of handicap-accessible parking and doors into the front steps of the
Downtown Site when the southeast corner gets revamped. To view an example of
what she’s talking about, check out the front steps of St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church, on Morrison Street in downtown Appleton.
Next meeting: The team will not meet in June and July, although LeAnne and Jan will
continue to work on the endowment brochure, which is slated to be completed in
fall 2008. In August, the agenda will be evaluated and the decision made on
whether to start up in August or September. Have a terrific summer!
